Wednesday, 1st February 2006: I woke up early at 10, as I was going to Ella's house. My parents are already away in Bali at the moment. My mom always makes my breakfast for me, but never mind then; I can make it on my own. It's not that hard actually, just pop some Cocoa Frosties into a bowl and fill it with milk. I then left the apartment (currently I'm staying with my mom at her apartment somewhere nearer to town than my house at Selayang), went into my car and turn the ignition key only to hear the sound of silence. Dammit! My battery kong! The 1st thing I did, as any rational man should do, is call Ella and tell her that I'm going to be late (so that she won't scold me later~). Then I walked around, asking people if they want to help me jump-start my car. Fortunately, there's this guy who has a jumper cable, and help me he does. Then everything went according to plan, I arrived at Bota in the afternoon, and spent the night there.
Thursday, 2nd February 2006: We went to UTP (Ella and I) to pickup our transcripts. But as usual, the transcripts are still not ready yet (even though I've called them the previous week to inform that I'm going to come and grab our transcript). *sigh*. They said that I have to come again the next week if I still want the transcript. *sigh again*. I don't think this problem arise at other universities, as their transcript are available on the internet. But if they still can't do it manually, do you think that they'll manage to make it available online? I doubt it.
Saturday, 3rd February 2006: Cameron Highland! We (Ella, her father and I in my car; the rest in the other car) leave Bota around lunch. Have lunch at Medan Ikan Bakar Seri Iskandar. Went straight to Cameron Highland, via Batu Gajah, Ipoh, and straight through Banjaran Titiwangsa to Kg Raja, Brinchang, and Tanah Rata. Walk around a bit until bored, then go to the strawberry farm. The strawberry-ice-cream-potong is so delicious that Ella had two of ‘em and still wanting for more. The fried-mushroom also tasted nice. But I think Cameron Highland is not as cool as before (both the temperature and the “cool” factor are below my expectation). It has gotten warmer by the year. I think people go up there, breathe all the cool air, and leave their body heat up there, that's why it's not so cold nowadays. Went down the mountain straight to Kinta City to bowl some pins. Got a couple of strikes, but nothing to brag about.
Sunday, 4th February 2006: Wake up early (again) to help Ella's brother-in-law to build a sheltered walkway at their backyard. As I'm not really good with all this hammers and drills stuff, I went back to sleep. Hihu~ Watch AJL-20. Can't understand why Hazami won best-vocal. Should have been Jac. Or Mawi. Or Ning. Maybe they want to give them only two trophies each, who knows.
Monday, 5th February 2006: We went to UTP (Ella and I) to pickup our transcripts (deja-vu?). But as usual, the transcripts are still not ready yet (deja-vu?!!). *sigh*. They said about someone is not there to sign the transcripts or whatever, that I'll have to come back tomorrow to get it. *sigh again*. Leave Bota for KL at 4 o'clock. Via Teluk Intan, Kuala Selangor, Sg Buloh. I refrain myself from taking the PLUS highway as it can dry my wallet in 2 ways; toll fees, and summon for going above 180km/h. But if I use the old-road (the road is not old at all, it has 2 lanes on each side, I don't know the real name of the road, so I'll stick with old-road) among keeping my speed limit at 120km/h, I can enjoy the scenery and I honestly think that taking the old-road makes me less sleepy than taking the boring PLUS highway. So, as I'm enjoying the scenery, I heard a loud bang under my car, and suddenly my car feels twitchy. The steering feels wobbly, and my car keeps turning left. I stopped at an abandoned bus-stand to check out my punctured left-rear tyre. After half-an-hour of struggling with the jack, the nuts, and the ultra- slim- super- convenient- spare- tyre- that- can't- exceed- even- a- bit- above- 80km/h- and- looks- like- a- bicycle- tyre, I'm back on the road again. I arrived at the apartment by dawn. Tomorrow I'll try to find some money and replace the tyre.
